On June 23, 2021, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) and with the assistance of the Consul of France, the closing ceremony of the coffin with the remains of General Gudin was held in Moscow at the Museum of the Patriotic War 1812 on Red Square. The coffin was then handed over to the French embassy, where the consul sealed the coffin before its repatriation to France, which will take place on July 13, 2021.
