After the discovery of more than 150 remains of French soldiers during construction work in 2013, the Foundation for the development of Russian-French historical initiatives decided to organize a funeral ceremony to honor these soldiers. However, before that, anthropological work was carried out on some of these soldiers in order to gather information and study the causes and conditions of the deaths of these men. During this work, Tatyana Yuryevna Shvedchikova, a specialist from the Russian Academy of Sciences, reconstructed the faces of these French soldiers using appropriate technology.
